it is easy to recover the audio if there is a pre TOC but no TOC ie a disc where recording was stopped normally but was not finalized. Seriously, what I do when I *have* to record a CD-R of a live performance, is to make a safety recording in some other format. At church, the other format is DVD-R video.

When I put a commercial audio cd in the drive, Windows CD player comes on, the drive spins, the clock starts and it looks as if sound should be coming out of the speakers, but it does not. The headphone jack on the Cd-rom does work. I did plug in the audio cable and connected it to the sound card = no luck.
